Small Shifts Make a Big Difference

I will work with you to help you discover the best way to nourish yourself to achieve optimal wellness.

I believe in the power of food.

I am a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. I graduated from the Canadian School Of Natural Nutrition. I am passionate about helping people understand the significant role that nutrition and lifestyle have on their overall well-being. I engage in a complementary and integrative approach to health which includes nutrition plans customized to the individual needs of a client, stress reduction techniques, and lifestyle changes.

I work with my clients to uncover and address the root cause of their issues.

I have a special interest in the relationship between digestion and autoimmune conditions, and am currently teaching a practicum course sharing my knowledge and holistic approach with nutrition students at Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.

My philosophy of food is quite simple. The approach rests on three pillars:

1. The critical importance of eating well.
I believe in eating well and that means eating wholesome, real food. Food that doesn’t have ingredients, foods that ARE the ingredients. Our bodies are the most amazing instruments. They adapt and respond very quickly. They require nutrients that only whole foods can provide in order to do the job that they do remarkably well. Small changes in how we nourish ourselves can make the biggest difference in how we feel.
2. The power of habit.
I believe that eating well need not be complicated once you develop healthy eating habits. Like all habits, healthy eating can be easy and self-sustaining once you have it fully ingrained. Customized plans are designed to help clients develop habits so securely that they only grow stronger with time. Menu plans and recipes are so simple and efficient that they work for your family’s schedule in a way that creates ease. Clients say they spend less time in the kitchen to make better meals after working with me. At Shift, our goal is to guide you into healthier habits that you carry with you for life.
3. The best nutrition information.
Nutrition is an emerging science and new information seems to come out every day, much of it contradictory. I will help you sort through the fads and trends and focus on the fundamentals. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to eating well. I don’t advocate a list of “good” and “bad” foods; rather, I work with you to transition to a place where you are well equipped to walk away from less nutritious options and shift towards options that promote energy and good health. It is a customized approach that takes into account your individual needs and preferences, as well as allergies and food restrictions. I have experience working with clients who are nut-free, gluten-free, grain-free, kosher, and dairy-free and can accommodate most any family’s needs.
As a general philosophy, Shift advocates a “shift away” and “shift toward” approach to making healthy choices.

Shift Away

  • Processed Foods
  • Factory farmed meat
  • High-mercury/farmed fish
  • Food high in refined sugars or substitutes
  • Highly refined carbs
  • Vegetables and fruit with significant pesticide residues

Shift Toward

  • Whole food
  • Whole grains
  • Lean meat and fish
  • Grass-fed beef and lamb
  • Pasture-raised eggs, poultry
  • Abundant fruits and vegetables without toxic residues
  • Nuts, seeds, and legumes
  • Healthy fats
I believe that prevention IS the cure, and work with my clients by empowering them to understand the impact of making positive food and lifestyle choices to their health.

Let’s shift together.
